Touring Playhouse

FAQs

With significant experience of Theatre in Education, and also West End Theatre. We understand the need for entertainment and engagement, whilst also treating the student with respect, and not talking down to them.

Our shows are listed on the What’s On section of our website. There you will see a list of our current and upcoming shows.

The health and safety of our cast and our audiences is of the utmost importance to us.

Touring Playhouse will update this protocol according to the latest government guidelines, ensuring a safe and enjoyable visit for all schools at which perform.

We have a page dedicated to our current covid protocol. You can see this page here.

Absolutely. You will see that safety is critically important to us. We also want to provide the very best possible experience for your students.

  • If you are unable to assemble the required number of students in a school hall, we can perform to a limited audience in a classroom, and you will be able to live feed to the remainder of students in classrooms.
  • We can perform live from a remote studio with a broadcast over zoom to your school, and conduct the workshop Q&A following the performance.
  • If performance becomes impossible, we can look at arranging suitable alternative dates to come and perform for you.

We are flexible. For the best results, we would perform in the main school assembly hall, a drama hall or theatre. 6m x 5m provides enough performance space, and you will need to allow extra space for at least a 2m distance from the audience. If  we need to restrict the performance space further and this is fine. We will also need access to power points in the room.

We need access to the space 30 minutes prior to the show start time and will vacate the area as quickly as 15 minutes.  We are aware of the demand on school rooms and timetables, so we have designed the show to allow for as quick a set-up and break-down as possible.

This depends on space but we recommend up to 150 students at one show.  We provide a discount for multiple showings of the same production in the same space.  And different year groups can attend the same show, dependent on government guidelines at the time.

Cheque of BACS is our preferred method of payment. We have been working with schools for over 15 years, so have comprehensive experience dealing with both invoicing and payments with the educational sector.

No. Our charges include travel and accommodation for our performers.

In some cases when a special show is requested overseas, we will discuss any additional charges with the school directly.

Sure! We are always developing new shows, and we want to hear from you. Please drop us a line via the Contact Us page and we’ll get back to you.

We have found that most schools want the show to be around 90 minutes in length. You will see on each individual show page that more information is included.
